The product manager will need have to be able to analyze market trends, market sizing and create realistic revenue expectations that the business case will be measured on in the future. In addition, the product manager will be measured on launching on time.

Once the product is launched, the product manager will be expected to manage the product through its lifecycle. This includes maintaining the proper pricing structure, updating the product structure to remain competitive, creating promotions to increase sales and to support the Sales teams with day to day questions. The product manager would be expected to have a general knowledge and expertise of the product family, not just one specific piece.

The product manager will be responsible for some cross-functional projects that include the

product but also include other products and solutions.

The product manager will be responsible to being a part of a core-team and understanding the

broader market. The product manager will need to understand how the product fits into broader

solutions and act creatively and independently.

Qualifications

The product manager must have the business acumen to create a sound business case and defend up to VP levels of Finance. The product manager must have the technical expertise to keep the product going in the right technical direction and have the credibility to stand up to Engineering groups. The product manager must have the marketing ability to launch a viable product. The product manager must prove these capabilities by being a strong written and oral communicator. The product manager must have the ability to motivate individuals not reporting directly to him or her. The product manager must be a leader and not be afraid to lead through challenging times.

  • 7-10 years of experience in Product Management, additional Sales experience a plus
  • Four year degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering, MBA preferred
  • LTE, M2M and Telematics certifications a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
