The Director, Social Media & Content Strategy will be responsible for driving the growth, development, execution and measurement of multi-platform social strategies.

He/she will oversee all social media programs and crafting the overall content strategy roadmap. The Director will demonstrate significant knowledge of Social Media including strategy, major + emerging social platforms, and the tactics necessary for delivery of complex Social programs. This role will oversee all efforts to improve the member experience through relevant and consistent messages across all marketing channels (site, email, push, social media and print)


Specific Responsibilities Include The Following:
Develop and implement creative and highly measurable social media programs and campaigns, with user engagement and experience in mind that aligns with digital strategy

  • Identify new opportunities for  Social Media strategy and manage brand positioning across all social media channels globally
  • Use data to gain insights to affect efficient communications planning and overall efficient media buying; monitor and analyze performance of each campaign to measure impact
  • Create and oversee social and community content creation processes and guardrails partnering with existing expert content creators in editorial and creative teams
  • Monitor trends in social media channels, tools, and metrics and appropriately apply that knowledge to increase the effectiveness of the program; remain current on social media industry developments
  • Grow fans and followers by driving paid and organic social programs
  • Be the voice of the customer in the company representing their needs and advocate for the development of effective customer communication
  • Champion persona work and insights to ensure relevancy in member communications
  • Evaluate partnership and innovation opportunities with external vendors
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure messaging is consistent with the overall Gilt brand
  • Mentor and develop social media team members

Candidate Profile

We seek a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail as well as the ability to prioritize, be flexible and adaptable. Specific skills that are needed for success in this role are:

 

  • Direct experience with all major Social Platforms
  • Ability to properly forecast social spend and activations
  • Experience overseeing a full social strategy: media, content, community management, moderation and analytics. Highly analytical with a strong understanding of performance metrics as related to social endeavors
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to and enjoy working cross-functionally and across multiple business units to achieve company goals
  • Mastery in and passion for all social media channels
  • Ability to partner with other leaders (creative, editorial, integrated marketing) to align teams’ content output across channels (internal / external)
  • Ability to work in a fact-paced environment

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must have experience in Fashion
  • 8+ years relevant experience in digital marketing experience with an ecommerce background; minimum of 6 years focused on social media strategy
  • Bachelor degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Experience acting as a social media thought leader influencing senior executives and gaining buy-in
  • Proven ability to scrutinize large amounts of content, identify and fix issues
  • Experience managing social budgets in an efficient manner on major platforms
  • Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, resolving issues, and reconciling differences
  • Excellent judgment and organizational ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
