Many of those texts probably suggested taking a big leap and actually <a href=\"http:\/\/money.usnews.com\/money\/blogs\/outside-voices-careers\/2010\/04\/07\/10-ways-to-ask-for-the-job-at-the-interview\">asking for the job during the interview<\/a>. Easier said than done, right? Well, maybe you won\u2019t think that after reading these tips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keep Things in Perspective<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There may be several reasons why you feel you should steer clear from asking for the job. However, remember that you miss out on all the chances you don\u2019t take. In case you\u2019re feeling confident, go with your gut and ask the question in a way that works for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some various approaches to consider could be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Show Your Enthusiasm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A hiring manager wants to employ people who are truly excited about working for the company. You can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.synerfac.com\/2013\/07\/26\/wilmington-de-recruiting-firm\/\">demonstrate your enthusiasm<\/a> in a variety of ways throughout the interview, but you can end by saying something like, \u201cI really want to work here, and this position seems like a perfect fit. Is there anything we haven\u2019t covered?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second part puts interviewers on the spot. Be careful though, because this approach is very direct and doesn\u2019t work well in all scenarios. However, if you\u2019re aiming for a sales or marketing position, it might help you show that you\u2019re not afraid of making a memorable close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Try to Get a Sense of Timing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also say something like, \u201cI\u2019m very interested in this job. Is there anything that would prevent you from offering it to me right now?\u201d That statement shows you\u2019re willing to stop your job search immediately because this particular position is so desirable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the answer you get may not be the one that lands you the job, it may give you some insight into how long you\u2019ll have to wait before getting an answer. For example the interviewer may tell you that one of the people that are accountable for hiring won\u2019t be in the office until next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Address Concerns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s also important to make yourself available so an interviewer feels like you\u2019re open to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/lisaquast\/2014\/03\/17\/job-seekers-how-to-close-an-interview-with-class\/\">addressing unanswered questions<\/a>. You can just simply say, \u201cAre there any concerns you have about hiring me?\u201d or \u201cAre there reasons why you believe I couldn\u2019t perform the duties of this job to meet your expectations?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Give a Reminder About Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employers often hire new people because they are trying to solve a problem. Hopefully, during your interview preparation you\u2019ve done some research about the company and have discovered some of its pressing needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you feel that you\u2019re well equipped to settle them you could showcase your research. For example by saying something like, \u201cI saw the press release on your website that mentioned you\u2019re expanding to the United Kingdom within a year. I\u2019m very prepared to assist with that transition, especially since I lived in England for 10 years and have a strong understanding of the culture.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, follow that up with a direct statement that you want the job, such as, \u201cGiven that I have the skills you need, I\u2019d be a great fit for this opportunity. Is there anything else you need to know before offering me the job?\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a very bold approach. That\u2019s why you should probably use it, only if you have a great deal of confidence that the employer truly demands the skills that you possess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Emphasize That You\u2019re a Team Player<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes you need to go a bit further than just saying, \u201cI\u2019m really interested in this job\u201d and add, \u201cI\u2019m really excited to work with you and your team.\u201d That tells the interviewer that you\u2019re looking beyond what the job can offer you and trying to focus on how you can be an asset to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A hiring manager should appreciate that approach. After all you\u2019ll certainly have to learn to <a href=\"http:\/\/career-advice.monster.com\/in-the-office\/workplace-issues\/5-ways-to-be-a-good-team-player-hot-jobs\/article.aspx\">work as a team<\/a>. Despite that team\u2019s size, the principles of communication, negotiation and leadership must be applied the same way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Only Ask for the Job if You Really Want It<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some people take the chance and ask for the job during an interview. However many of them are not even truly interested for the position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is mandatory to use any of the approaches you now know about, only if you\u2019re genuinely eager to get the position, and accept right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the same way you might ask friends and family members to drill you on the most common interview questions. Get them to give you feedback as you close a mock interview.
